I’m Valarie Joy!
I’m a full-time photographer based in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina—and I seriously love what I do. Whether I’m swaddling a newborn, following your adventurous toddler, or helping families freeze time (just a little), I’m all about creating a fun, relaxed experience that results in meaningful photos.
People often tell me I’m calm, patient, and quick on my feet—which probably comes from working with hundreds (or thousands) of newborns and small children over the years. I’ve even been named one of the Best Family Photographers in Charleston, which still feels a little surreal!
At the end of the day, I just love serving people with joy, intention, and maybe a little bit of humor. I’d be honored to capture your story. While families are at the heart of what I do, I also work with businesses and brands to create clean, intentional imagery for corporate events, branding, and marketing. From corporate gatherings to small business shoots, I bring the same calm, organized energy to help everything run smoothly.
